Abducted NUP female Journalist Swaburah Owomukisa in great Danger

To all concerned Ugandans and the rest of the world.
State Abductions and Unjust Imprisonment: Urgent Action Needed to end this era.

Swaburah Owomukisa, a prominent online journalist associated with the NUP National Unity Platform led by Bobi Wine and People Power movement, has become the latest victim of state abductions in Uganda. For the past two days, she has been forcibly taken away, and her current whereabouts remain unknown. This distressing incident is further compounded by the perpetrators’ use of her phone to lure and trap her friends into similar abductions. The alarming trend of abductions and unjust imprisonment under the regime of Museveni and his family who captured power in 1986 demands immediate attention and resistance from all conscientious Ugandans.

Despite Swabura’s invaluable contributions to the field of journalism, Swabura’s commitment to shedding light on the truth reporting specifically activities of NUP and HE Boniwine in particular has made her a target for oppressive forces. For two consecutive days, she has been held against her will, with no information regarding her current location or well-being despite tireless efforts by friends and lawyers to trace her. The alarming aspect of her abduction lies in the fact that the perpetrators have seized her phone and are using it to deceive her acquaintances, leading to their subsequent abductions.

Jona Atusingwize’s Narrow Escape.
One such instance involved Jona Atusingwize, a journalist affiliated with Ghetto TV. Jona received a call from Swabura’s phone, presuming it was Swabura herself. Displaying commendable caution and wisdom, Jona did not go directly to the specified meeting place but instead went to the top of a nearby building. From there, he observed a military vehicle and a drone positioned precisely where the individuals calling from Swabura’s phone had intended to meet him. And with this, I call upon close associates of Swabura to remain vigilant.

These targeted abductions and imprisonments are part of a disturbing pattern in Uganda, where young political activists who support President Bobi Wine and his People Power movement are ruthlessly silenced. Hundreds of innocent individuals, including Olivia Lutaaya, a mother of two, have been unjustly incarcerated for their political affiliations. Olivia has languished in jail for nearly three years without trial, simply for expressing her support for Bobi Wine as a political leader. This flagrant violation of human rights and the denial of due process is an affront to justice and a clear demonstration of the regime’s oppressive tactics.

Call for Action:
The intensified state abductions, torture, and unjust imprisonment of young Ugandan political activists demand immediate and resolute action. It is crucial that all Ugandans of good conscience unite to resist the oppressive regime led by dictator Museveni and his family. The international community must also lend their support and not only to condemn these human rights abuses, but to as well stop shaking Museveni’s blood stained hands, urging the Ugandan government to uphold the principles of democracy, freedom of expression, and the rule of law. The international community should as well stop funding such a regime in the false pretext of aid

The plight of Swabura Owomukisa, Olivia Lutaaya, Machete, and countless others should serve as a wake-up call to the world, motivating collective efforts to protect the rights and safety of Ugandans
