Another NUP supporter abducted by CMI
Reports coming through indicate that Mr. Magara Umar, a National Unity Platform party supporter and coordinator of the Kunga mobilization drive was yesterday violently abducted.
According to sources privy to the incident, Umar, an aide to NUP Lord Councillor Kizza Hakim was picked up by plain clothed operatives brandishing AK-47 rifles. Its is said that they hit him with gun butts before bundling him into a waiting drone.
Umar was reportedly returning from work at City Hall when the gunmen engulfed him and abducted him for unknown reasons.
NUP secretary general David Lewis Rubongoya confirmed the incident and issued a condemnation note.
“The National Unity Platform mobilisation leader for Kawempe North Constituency Magala Umar was picked up yesterday and taken to CMI!,” Rubongoya tweeted.
