Balaam in tears as empty seats welcome him to Royal Regency at the MK UK event
Events promoter and Western Uganda Chairperson for the MK movement, Mr. Balam Barugahare was left lamenting and cursing after the Ugandan diaspora community in the United Kingdom boycotted their maiden diaspora rally.
Barugahare was in company of the Igara East MP Michael Mawanda with whom they had anticipated to penetrate the diaspora community and entice them into supporting Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s 2026 presidential bid.
However on their arrival they were greeted by a series of street protests by opposition supporters who were denouncing the Ugandan regime for ruthlessly intolerating the dissenting voices, citing several youthful Bobi Wine supporters who remain under trial at the General Court Martial. The protesters also accuse the first son, Muhoozi with being aggressive and brutal on his critics, citing the case of exiled PEN Award winning novelist Kakwenza Rukirabashaija who fled Uganda last year after his abduction by security agencies.
Inside the flopped function, Mr. Barugahare begged the diaspora community to forget the past embrace oneness.
“We are all Ugandans. I call on you to forget any differences and shortcomings and we work as a team for the good of our country,” Barugahare begged. “Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba is our next president in 2026 and he will start from where our grandfather shall stop,” he assured.
The food that was at the venue was left to the service providers as it was too much to cater for the attendees even if they opted to eat ten times.
It is important to note that Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba has routinely breached the UPDF code of conduct that bars serving military officers from indulging in partisan politics.
Meanwhile in a nearby venue, Barbie Ithungo Kyagulanyi, a wife to NUP president filled her venue to the core as Ugandans showed up to listen to her message concerning the plight of their country.
