The ten women were charged with inciting violence. They are Ms. Jacky Birungi, Flavia Ramto Apiyo, Milly Namatovu, Allen Nantume, Elizabeth Namagembe, Sylvia Namutyaba, Allen Nakiku, Phiona Nankya, Stella Kyeyune, and Rukia Nabasi Sserunga.

Upon their release, they were received by the NUP officials at the head offices in Kamwokya before they were later taken to Magere to meet their president, Bobi Wine.

He hosted them to dinner and emcouraged them to remain firm and vocal on matters concerning human rights.

“Very pleased to receive back our 10 female comrades who have been in detention for twelve days for protesting against the illegal arrests and abductions of our people! Very glad to see that they are very strong. Museveni has tried very hard to criminalize any form of protest in Uganda, but am sure a time will soon come, when the people will defy the repressive laws and rise up,” Bobi posted on Facebook Monday evening.
