Bobi mourns students who perished in deadly Kasaka SS accident

Singer turned politician Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine has come out to send condolences to the families of the accident victims which happened at Kasaka Senior Secondary School in Gomba.

The country yesterday was left in shock after a truck rammed into a classroom full of students. According to Police, the driver of this Sinotruck lost control and ended up crashing through the school’s fence.

The heavy truck continued through and eventually rammed into the school’s computer lab. This was fully packed with learners and 3 of them didn’t make it out alive. 18 of these were critically injured and rushed to hospital and 3 lost their lives.

Meanwhile, Police arrested the Sinotruck driver who turned out to be a 26-year-old.

“The Territorial Police in Gomba, has today 14th.March, 2023, at around 3:30PM, It’s alleged that the sino truck driver lost control and rammed into Kasaka Senior Secondary school fence, proceeded through to the school computer Lab that was occupied by students, killing three students on spot and injuring other eighteen (18)registered, a fatal accident involving Sino truck registration number UBL 790J. The deceased students have been identified as Evelyn Namagembe a student of form five, Mawanda Bosco of S2, and Asege Hilda of form four…” the police statement reads in part.

Many Ugandans since then are sending their condolences to the families of the deceased and the injured ones. Bobi Wine who is from Gomba also took to his Twitter page to send condolences.

“Sending my heartfelt sympathies to the parents, students and staff of Kasaka Secondary School about the tragic accident that occurred today. May the Almighty comfort you and rest in peace the souls of your loved ones. Kitalo nnyo!”

Many people are still wondering why a 26-year-old would be tasked with driving such a truck. This is because at his age, he lacks the experience needed to man such a vehicle.
