The National Unity Platform party president Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert aka Bobi Wine yesterday reached out to the Mubende families of abductees who were picked and disappeared by state security agencies.

Majority of the abductees were picked before, during and after the 2021 general elections.

Among those he visited was the family of Mr. Kisembo, a primary school head teacher who was abducted after the District Internal Security Organization officer threatened serious reprisals to him over refusal to grant space to Museveni presidential campaign posters on school classroom premises.

The head teacher Kisembo had in his defense said the school is a non partisan entity that does not entertain any political space on its precincts. However, this prompted the DISO to openly tell him to ‘await what is coming’.

Kisembo was according to reports disappeared immediately after being threatened by the DISO of Mubende district.

Bobi on the reach out

We spent the day yesterday in Mubende District where we visited the family of Mr. Godfrey Kisembo who was abducted in 2021 and has not been seen again. Mr. Kisembo was the headteacher of Kisiita Primary school in Kiganda Sub-County. He was apparently abducted for removing Gen. Museveni’s posters from the school walls, because government schools should be non-partisan. The DISO told him he would face consequences, and he has not been seen since.

On our way back, the people of Mubende came out in large numbers to wave and greet us. Not even the intimidation by the police and military could stop them. Grateful to them for the love and solidarity with the cause.
