National Unity Platform party president Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert aka Bobi Wine who was returning from a burial in Iganga district on Friday left the locals of Kayunga mesmerized.

The NUP leader was returning from Iganga where he had gone to send off a father to his colleague.

“Spent much of my day in Iganga where we laid to rest comrade Tony Bikumbi aka Tonny Houls aka Jajja Tony’s father Mr. Bikumbi Edward. Praying for you my friend Tony Houls; may you have the strength to carry through this trying moment. May papa’s soul rest in peace,” Bobi tweeted

But on his return, Bobi encountered several road blocks staged by people who wanted to have a word from him.

For the entirety of the journey, road blocks were visible but the most notable was in Kayunga, a key NUP stronghold that has drifted with the influence of NRM use of militarism and coercion. Locals of Kayunga in 2021 had voted NUP candidate Harriet Nakwedde but in a twist of events, NRM’s Andrew Muwonge was declared winner at gun point.

Below are some of the pictorials retrieved from Bobi’s page depicting his eventful Friday;
