Bobi Wine meets activists in Washington DC
His Excellency the President of Uganda Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert alias Bobi Wine is in Washington where he is meeting key activists and prominent world figures as he continues to push for change in Uganda.
Wine, 41, left the country for the US on the eve of Eid Al Fitr to engage with key NUP party stakeholders that are eyeing regime change in Uganda.
In a Wednesday Facebook post, Bobi accounts for his time in Washington DC where he met exiled journalist Ashraf Kasirye.
Bobi writes;
Yesterday, I held a couple of meetings in Washington D.C. with academics, activists and other stakeholders at the Universitys of Maryland and George Washington. We discussed the human rights situation in Uganda as well as the state of our struggle for democracy and good governance. I thanked them for supporting our endeavours, and encouraged them to maintain the international spotlight on the extra judicial killings, detention without trial, torture and other human rights violations in Uganda and everywhere else in Africa where they occur.
Later on, I interacted with officials in Washington D.C. and emphasized to them the need to hold Mr. Museveni’s regime accountable for its political and economic crimes against the citizens of Uganda. We appreciate the development aid rendered to Uganda, but reiterate our call upon the international community to make the observance of human rights and democracy a pre-condition for the same. #WeAreRemovingaDictator #Labisa #FreeAllPoliticalPrisoners

Bobiwine in year 3020 a defining topic in African books of history

Reminder;
Believe it or not, by year 3020, “BOBI WINE AND PEOPLE POWER” will be a defining topic in African books of history.

Our sons and daughters will have the privilege of reading about this brilliant, fearless, and patriotic young leader who flipped the script, sacrificed his celebrity lifestyle and took it upon himself to free Uganda from a long Serving dictator, M7 who had misruled Uganda for 40 years.
It will be both an inspiring and heartbreaking sad tale for our grand sons and daughters as they will be subjected to scripts that will feature the high Corruption rate , the Impunity, Unemployment,
nepotism, Military rule, land grabbing, endless Murders of innocent Ugandans, and so much more that existed before Bobi Wine’s leadership.
But as they read between the lines, they will shed tears of joy knowing that Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, aka Bobi Wine, and the entire People Power movement eventually triumphed, transformed Uganda, set strong democratic precedents, and paved the way that leaders after them followed to steer the nation in the right direction, the nation our grand sons and daughters will be enjoying by that time.
By then, the People Power revolution will have swept and dismantled dictatorships across Africa, as African nations that were subjects of dictatorship gained confidence after seeing it done in Uganda. By this time, Uganda is now a developed country, the pearl of Africa again – in its true meaning, in all aspects of life social economic and political, Everything went back to normal, you cant believe we have ever had a dictator called Museveni. The days of dictatorship will feel like a distant, unimaginable past.
Statues of Bobi Wine, clad in full People Power combat gear and the iconic beret, stand tall in major cities. People come take photos, shoot films, and document history—without fear of teargas or repression. A free and democratic Uganda finally a reality.
Bwetukomawo, today is February 3, 2025.
The weight of this change rests on our shoulders, and the truth is no one is going to do it for us. If we want a free Uganda, we must rise as a generation, stand together, and take action.
This fight demands more than just hope, it requires courage, trust, discipline, and an unshakable resolve. The forces of oppression will test us as they have done countless tyms but we must stand firm, knowing that every sacrifice, every effort, brings us closer to victory.
And make no mistake, at the end of it all, we shall win. Uganda will be free, and history will remember this generation as the one that refused to kneel before tyranny.
The time is now. The struggle continues. Together, we shall overcome.

Sad; NUP abducted Councillor held incommunicado for 25 days now

Today marks 25 days since this comrade Muwanga Owen Martin was abducted by the military! He remains under incommunicado detention. He is an elected Councillor in Kyengera, and impassioned activist. Ironically, he was taken away by heavily armed operatives moving in a drone UAL 119V as he returned home after the screening of the Documentary about the gross violations of human rights. Although the police spokesperson admitted that he is in the custody of ‘security’, he has neither been produced in court. His family, lawyers, doctors, and friends have all been denied access to him. Today, our legal team will be asking court to issue a Habeas Corpus order for his release. Very sad state of affairs! #BringBackOurPeople

Bobi Wine outraged by rampant poverty in Oyam

President Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert aka Bobi Wine was today outraged by the obscene poverty in Oyam District and Northern Uganda at large.
Bobi had gone to drum up for support for the NUP candidate Daniel Okello who is tussling it out with four other candidates.
In his message, Bobi expressed his disgust at the NRM regime which he says has impoverished the people of Northern Uganda.
Bobi Wine statement;
We spent the day in Oyam North Constituency preaching the message of liberation to our people there! The population in Northern Uganda has been deliberately impoverished and subdued. The levels of poverty are unbelievable. It was very painful seeing old people asking us if we moved with some food because they are starving! The NRM machinery only comes around during elections. It is then that these people get to see the “government” through the long military convoys driving around regime officials! It is during elections that these people are bribed with as little as 500 Uganda shillings and given new empty promises.
Well, we made several stop-overs around the constituency with our comrade Daniel Okello, and yet again reminded these people about the extent of the problem our country faces and everyone’s duty to deliver our nation from this mess. I am grateful to our people for the overwhelming reception, despite all the intimidation and military deployment everywhere! Uganda will be free!
