Bobi Wine rallies US based Ugandans to push for change back home

The National Unity Platform party president Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert aka Bobi Wine has continued to use his trip to the United States to lobby for more support from the diaspora community.

The President addressed a gathering at townhall in Washington DC where he urged the diaspora to push for reforms back home. He brought to light an array of rights violations by the repressive Museveni regime which he says has deprived Ugandan citizens of their sovereignty.

He encouraged them to keep pursuing for the liberation of Uganda till the military rule is wiped out and a civilian people centered democracy is instituted.

Bobi will today have another townhall meeting in Boston Massachusetts. He has been in the US since Thursday when he travelled on the eve of Eid Al Fitr.

The diaspora is a grounded epicentre of the opposition National Unity Platform party. Lately, the Muhoozi Kainerugaba movement has been trying to communicate its significance to the diaspora but all in vain. All the would be conferences by the MK group have turned out flops with little or no attendance at all, a sign that diaspora Ugandans are unwilling to grace the trail of Gen. Muhoozi who intends to replace his aged father. “We cannot fall out of the frying pan to fire,” one Ugandan in Washington DC said. “A transition from Museveni’s kleptocracy to Muhoozi’s militant rule will be like jumping from a pan to fire,” she added.
