National Unity Platform party president Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert alias Bobi Wine yesterday issued a heart warming message to the Kabaka of Buganda His Majesty Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II whose health condition is said to be dire.

Wine, a historical friend and son of Buganda Kingdom has enjoyed fruitful ties with the person of the Kabaka and even during his popular music years christened himself ‘Omubanda wa Kabaka’ which loosely translates ‘the Badman of the King’.

Wine, on Sunday used his Facebook channel to convey a message of hope and love to the Kabaka.

“On this beautiful Sunday afternoon, I am sending love and healing prayers to my King, Saabasajja Kabaka, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II.
Wangaala ayi Beene,” Bobi posted.

The health state of the Kabaka has been concealed in line with the Buganda cultural provision that prohibits the subjects from discussing it in the public spaces.

Some reports say the Kabaka has made frequent trips to Europe for treatment for an illness the Katikkiro (Premiere) described as ‘allergy’.

The Kabaka was a no show at the recent Masaza cup finals between Busiro and Buddu, yet traditionally he has been gracing such games. This triggered eyebrows amongst his subjects with murmurs lingering that his apparent health condition could be a matter of concern.
