Bobi Wine tops Museveni, Muhoozi meeting agenda
Yesterday, the NRM party chairperson Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni met his son, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba with whom they held discussions regarding the looming transition and the future of Uganda.
Muhoozi was accompanied by his sycophants who pose as CEC members of his movement and they include; Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi, MP Michael Mawanda, Michael Katungi, Andrew Mwenda, David Kabanda and Hon. Lilian Aber, among others.
At the fulcrum of their engagement was the NUP party president Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert alias Bobi Wine who they unanimously agreed that he is an obstacle to the transition.
Muhoozi according to reports from sources well briefed about the minutes of the meeting, relayed empathy with his elderly father. The source said Muhoozi told Museveni that age had finally caught up with him and that it would be difficult for the 79 year old who will be 82 in 2026 to stage an impactful campaign against youthful Bobi Wine.
“He told him that Bobi Wine is still influential in national politics and that a younger leader like himself (Muhoozi) should be fronted to take on the mantle,” the source said. “He also asked him to endorse his 2026 bid before things get out of hand,” the source adds.
On corruption that has rocked the NRM regime for the past 4 decades, Muhoozi appreciated his father for taking a tougher stance on thieving cabinet Ministers. He however expressed disappointment with the snail paced trial and apprehension of other bigwigs like the speaker of Parliament Anita Among, PM Robinah Nabbanja and VP Jessica Alupo.
