BREAKING: Bobi Wine Guard smuggled to court, remanded

Geoffrey Ongima, a National Unity Platform party supporter has this afternoon been secretly arraigned before a grade one magistrate court in Nakaseke.

Our sources on ground say he was paraded to court as he limped in agony due to the injuries he sustained during the arrest a couple of days back.

Ongima is being charged with the October 24, 2022 assault of an NRM political activist Majambere Kamuntu who was clobbered by a mob as he attempted to draw a pistol at mourners who had convened to send off Suleiman Jakana Nadduli in Nakaseke.

State prosecution alleges that Ongima Geoffrey alias High Tower, a Lugbara by tribe and resident of Wakiso district led a mob that caused bodily harm on a one Majambere Kamuntu.

Ongima took a plea of ‘not guilty’ but has been remanded to prison till February 22 since there were no sureties to stand for his bail.
