According to the letter, the government of Uganda will not renew its contract with the UNHRC citing the presence of other state supported agencies and civil society groups.

In the face of growing international condemnation and isolation, tyrant Museveni has in the past responded by shutting down NGOs, Facebook, DGF (Biggest donor-funded democracy program) and declaring several international staff Persona Non-Grata or deporting them!

Now he has shut down the UN Human Rights Office in Uganda! Are we surprised? You all recall in the aftermath of the 2021 election and the hundreds killed or abducted by the Museveni regime, we petitioned the UN Human Rights Office and the military brutalised journalists right there in front of the office. This UN Office condemned these actions and has been investigating the violations committed by the regime. It is therefore not surprising that is is being closed!!
