The twelve Bukedea locals who petitioned the Catholic Church Secretariat questioning the eligibility of the speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Anita Annet Among Magogo for the holy communion have fled into hiding.

Reports in Bukedea show that the bold petitioners who included their identities are facing serious threats instituted by the speaker herself.

“My brother has been receiving threatening calls tasking him to disclose his identity or else he won’t like it when they come after him,” a relative to one of the petitioners says. “As we had convened to have our dinner on Sunday, a loud door knock on our door left us frightened. A masked man asked us for the whereabouts my brother. We lied to him that he was on the wrong address,” he adds.

Several relatives of the 12 petitioners have attested that their colleagues are living in danger and total fear since their names featured on that document that made rounds on social media.

The local Bukedea Police has however denied having knowledge of the threats claiming that they have not registered a single case against the speaker of Parliament Anita Among.

Premising on their 5 justifications, the petitioners demanded the Catholic Church to take action and clarify on the eligibility of the speaker to qualify for holy communion. As one of their grounds, the petitioners say the speaker is a third wife to a Muslim man Eng. Moses Magogo. They add that Among is a murderer, land grabber and an avid believer of witchcraft.

The office of the speaker has remained quiet on the allegations raised in the petition.
