Bukoto Central MP Twaha Kagabo was yesterday attacked as he was addressing a Boda Boda stage at Kanoni in his constituency in Greater Masaka.

Local reports indicate that Dr. Twaha fled after a group of youths heckled and attacked him as he was speaking to a group of Boda riders. The angry group accused with being of doubles standards citing his derailment from the cores of the NUP party where he a fortnight back attended president Museveni’s address to Parliament yet the opposition had resolved to boycott the Plenary.

Gripped by fear as the mob grew wild, Kagabo alerted the Police which swung into action and two individuals; Charles Mukiibi and Fred Kasiita were arrested.

“Kagabo survived being lynched by Charles Mukiibi and Fred Kasiita who were heckling at the MP. They were accusing him with attending the president’s address,” an observer said.

The controversial MP has vowed to apply an iron fist on any voter who would want to coerce him into doing what breaches his conscience.

“I cannot be a slave of politics. If you don’t respect me, I do the same. You attack me, I attack you back. Be keen with criminals disguising as NUP members. The NUP party does not harbour criminals,” he said. “These people will serve as an example. I want them to publicly apologize to me every after 7 days,” he said.
