Court case of Bobi Wine guard adjourned as CMI witness shuns presence

The Mwanga II Mengo magistrates court has adjourned the case hearing of the National Unity Platform party supporter Kavuma Jamushid and his three co-accused counterparts.

The case has been pushed to March 13 after state prosecutors failed to show up at the courtroom.

Kavuma and his colleagues are accused with criminal charges of malicious damage of government property after they allegedly destroyed a windscreen of a Toyota Hiace drone vehicle that had stormed Gladiator Paradise bar to abduct one of them.

The drone wss being driven by a one Corporal Kambale Nelson, a CMI officer.

Kavuma was consequently shot in the thigh during the scuffle with security operatives. He was later subdued and held in the CMI Mbuya safe houses incommunicado for close to one month till NUP filed a habeas corpus that compelled authorities to arraign him in court.

Kavuma’s lawyer Keeya Jeremiah Mwanje who was present at court had condemned the state prosecutors for failing to respect court proceedings.
