Mr. Kijjambu Ronald Simon, one of the court martialed National Unity Platform party supporters has lost his father.

Kijjambu like his colleagues has been in detention at Kitalya prison for close to three years now.

He is one of those who were arraigned before the military court! He joins the long list of NUP political prisoners who have lost loved ones while in detention.

His father, Nsubuga Emmanuel Kayuguumo passed on yesterday and was lai to rest on Tuesday in Bweyogerere, Wakiso district.

The family says their father has been so stressed about his son’s detention without trial. They told us that from the time Kijjambu was violently abducted and held incommunicado for several months, he got into depression and his health deteriorated.

Kijjambu is probably not yet aware that his father is dead. All this happening not because he committed any crime but for supporting a candidate of his choice in an election.

” Very unfortunate circumstances. He has passed on without seeing his son for all this time. I delivered a message of condolence on behalf of the National Unity Platform and our President Bobi Wine,” the NUP Party secretary general David Lewis Rubongoya said. “Hopefully one day, the criminal regime will account for the incredible pain they have caused to so many people. May his soul rest in peace,” he added.
