Kassanda woman MP finally makes it official
The Kasanda District Woman Member of Parliament Flavia Kalule is officially off the shelf after Sunday introducing her husband to her parents in a colorful ‘Kwanjula’ ceremony.
The MP who doubles as the Chairperson of the Women’s League at the National Unity Platform got engaged in 2022 to her partner Emma Mujahedeen Kashaija in Kampala. A month later the couple held a Kukyala ceremony.
The function was graced by the first lady Barbie Ithungo Kyagulanyi who gave a heart warming speech that left everyone thrilled.
The function was largely attended by a delegation of politicians notably the Kampala Capital City Lord Mayor Al Hajj Erias Lukwago, MPs like Hon. Nsamba Patrick Oshabe, Hon. Kabuye Frank and several NUP lawmakers.
The NUP Deputy Spokesperson Alex Waiswa Mufumbiro was also fully present at the colorful function.
Kwanjula is a traditional marriage ceremony that a couple must go through before the wedding. During the Kwanjula the groom-to-be pays the bride price and any other traditional requirements made by the fiancee’s parents or relatives.
