KCCA notoriety deprives baby of breast milk as mother is detained at Luzira

The recklessness of the enforcement team of the Kampala Capital City Authority has separated a nine months old toddler from its mother who was a few days back arrested during a street sweep.

The lady was picked up on the evening of Monday and taken to City Hall court where he cries to allow her access her baby fell on deaf ears. The judge declined to entertain these cries and remanded her to Luzira women’s prison till May 10th.

Earlier this morning in Luzira Women’s Prison, the husband to the detainee brought their nine months old baby for breastfeeding.

Authorities at Luzira first declined to allow the man access his wife so she breastfeeds their baby. The man pleaded till a call to the officer in charge of Luzira changed everything.

The OC reportedly instructed that the baby feeds for just 15 minutes to which the man obliged.

Efforts to reach Frank Baine on the matter turned futile as his known contacts were unreachable.
