A Makerere University Civil Engineering Student has drowned at a swimming pool of Maluku Based Mountain Inn Hotel, Mbale, Eastern Uganda.

This publication understands that the hotel belongs to opposition Forum for Democratic Change party secretary general Nathan Nandala Mafabi.

The Hotel management has concealed information regarding circumstances surrounding the death of this third year Engineering student. It is said management resolved to hide the information given the political status of the owner of the hotel.

According to credible information, the hotel management has bribed journalists not to air the story.

The Family in conjunction with the local police have silently retrieved the body from the swimming pool and taken it to Mbale hospital for postmortem.

Eye witnesses say the deceased student dived to the pool via a deep end as he tried to rescue a toddler who was on the verge of drowning in the same water facility at the hotel. It is in the process that he unfortunately drowned with no pool attendant to rescue the situation. Fortunately, the minor who the deceased had gone to save was rescued alive.
