Makindye NUP mayor survives accident on Express Highway
Makindye Mayor Ali Kasirye Nganda Mulyanyama was last night injured in an accident on the Kampala-Entebbe Expressway, according to reports via his social media handles.
The Mayor was traveling in a Ford Ranger number UBL 167k, which lost control and crashed into a side channel.
Mulyanyama was rushed to hospital complaining of chest pain.
He later shared pictures of the crash, praising God for surviving it.
Allah is my protector and savior,” he said.
The incident comes less than a week after NTV journalist Edward Muhumuza lost his life on the same road.
Muhumuza was driving from work to Entebbe last Saturday morning when he lost control and hit a sign post, causing his vehicle to overturn.
The Uganda National Roads Authority and Police have cautioned users of the Expressway to mind their speed and follow traffic rules.
