The Internal Affairs Minister Rtd. Maj. Gen. Kahinda Otafiire has faulted the opposition politicians for the ongoing chain of arson attacks on schools that has lately devastated the Education sector.

In the past one month, about 5 schools have been razed down mysteriously by fires believed to be politically instigated according to the intelligence findings of Minister Otafiire.

Speaking exclusively in an interview with Radio CBS this morning, Otafiire claimed their findings have landed on a cartel of opposition politicians he did not mention on air, to have been the masterminds of the prevailing arson on schools.

“We have learned that these fires have criminal elements in opposition. They are the ones paying for the arsonist raids on schools to instigate fear and panic among civilians,” Otafiire claimed. “We will soon arrest these individuals and have them prosecuted. It is cowardly to divert your rage and fury on the civilian population. We (govt officials) are here. You should come for us instead of killing innocent Ugandans,” he added.

It should be recalled that the same Minister in a confession reiterated that during the NRA liberation war, they would disguise as Obote Government soldiers by wearing their military fatigue and butcher civilians to insinuate that it was Government troops devouring its own civilians.
