Mirundi in trouble as Buganda loyalists boycott TVs, radios hosting him
Former senior presidential press secretary Joseph Tamale Mirundi is still paying a heavy price over his offensive insults to the Kabaka of Buganda His Majesty Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II.
Earlier this month while featuring on an online talk show hosted by Blogger Isaac Katende popularly known as Kasuku, Mirundi was seen demeaning the person of the Kabaka and mocking his frail health condition.
Kasuku came out to retract the statements and apologized on behalf of Mirundi, whose insanity has maintained him to remain unremorseful. Mirundi refused to bow down and express remorse for his derogatory statements.
The attack on the Kabaka has since pulled an intense backlash from the Bugands Kingdom loyalists who want the motor mouthed propagandist to tone down and apologise.
We have since learned that several news editors and producers have asked their staff not to host Mirundi till the impasse is resolved. On Beat FM where Mirundi features every Wednesday, the show meant to host him has not been aired, a gesture that editors and producers are a bit disgusted by his actions and reckless commentaries.
Mirundi has been a habitual offender of the Uganda Communications Commission mininum broadcasting standards. On several of his shows, he has routinely slandered and maliced key individuals and institutions in society.
