The disciplinary committee proceedings concerning the Mityana municipality MP Zaake Francis that were scheduled to take place today have been deferred to a later date.

The MP is facing charges of misconduct following his November 29th clash with the Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa who shielded him from tabling on the wave abductions that were rampant in 2022.

Zaake was since referred to the rules, privileges and discipline committee for alleged misconduct as he defied the Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa during the November 29th plenary.

His trial has been facing a stall with no clear direction. But sources inside parliament say Zaake is being yet again punished by his political nemesis the speaker Rt. Hon Anita Annet Among who wants to see the defiant Mityana lawmaker kicked out of Parliament for at least one year.

With the Leader of Opposition Rt. Hon. Mathias Mpuuga mute on the matter, political pundits anticipate doom for the firebrand NUP lawmaker whose unwavering approach to confrontational struggle remains unshakable despite the administrative force being used to repress him.
