On March 2, 2023, a man donned in a red overall to disguise as a National Unity Platform party member was nabbed turning against the peaceful protesters who were at a presser condemning the arrest of their area leader, Hamuza Kasozi and Najja Nassif. The duo had been arrested at parliament for leading peaceful demonstrations calling out on government to release political prisoners.

In the later days however, a team of youths in Nansana opted to add a voice to pressurize government to free their leaders and political prisoners.

NUP lawyer Saasi Marvin in a Facebook statement says they’ve ably unearthed the actual identity of the man in the red overall who is seen in a picture violently apprehending a NUP supporter at the presser.

“The guy in the red overall is Wasswa Bosco. On 2 March 2023 in Nansana, Bosco is one of other unidentified thugs who raided, roughed up and later detained our comrades including #MandeWaKyagulanyi (the one being grabbed in the photo). The comrades were about to hold a press conference to demand the release of political prisoners. Bosco put on the red overall to drive the false narrative that it is NUP abducting its own people. Tubalabise!,” Marvin wrote.

The whereabouts of ‘Mande wa Kyagulanyi’ remain an unsolved mystery with police yet to acknowledge whether they have him in their custody and what charges they’ve preferred against him.
