The capture of Mr. Mukasa follows a trail by police sniffer dogs which traced for his scent from the crime scene where had stolen bags of coffee to his residence where he had hidden them.

According to sources, Mr. Mukasa has been a prolific thief who has always stolen people’s coffee and livestock.

“This man has been stealing our goats and coffee. He is a thief. It is so absurd that a full chairman of a party like NRM can survive on wrecking terror on citizens. He must be banished from our village. We don’t want him again,” Mr. Kibirige, a local in Ssembabule intimates.

Police have also confirmed holding him in their custody at Ssembabule police station.

“Our sniffer dog linked Mr. Mukasa to the crime scene and luckily enough, he had in possession the stolen bags of coffee,” an officer who asked not to be named said.

Meanwhile the NRM communications officer Emmanuel Dombo Lumala declined to condemn the incident by press time.
