The International Crimes Division court in Kololo, Kampala has been compelled to adjourn the hearing of the murder case imposed on the National Unity Platform party lawmakers Allan Ssewanyana and Muhammad Ssegirinya.

The adjournment has been achieved after Samuel Muyizzi, the counsel for the accused MPs fronted medical grounds for his newly bailed clients and sought a future date.

Consequently, the presiding judge conceded after medical forms to prove the indisposed state of the MPs were presented.

The ICD announced March 6 to be the next date of hearing of the case and further remanded the other co-accused suspects who are on the same charge sheet with the MPs.

Some of their sureties present at court this morning included Kiira municipality MP Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda alongside other NUP politicians.

The MPs achieved bail last Monday after braving 17 months on remand at Kigo prison. They were deprived of decent medical attention at the time they spent on remand, a ground that was largely relied on by the Masaka High Court judge Lawrence Tweyanze as he approved a UGX 20m cash bail.

The MPs have since their release not yet made any public statement concerning their prolonged incarceration.
