The Kampala City Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago has rebuked the Uganda Prisons Administration for overreacting in the last minute as the bail of the administrators Allan Ssewanyana and Muhammad Ssegirinya was being handled.

As per the Lord Mayor, the MPs were delivered before the culmination of the bail application interaction, and that a few records were not even endorsed by the suspects as expected by the law.

“As a lawyer, I’m actually endeavoring to comprehend what compelled the jails administration to overreact without a second to spare. They hurried my clients outside jail in any event, when the bail had not yet been finished,” Lukwago told media. “This was exceptionally ludicrous. Everything was done unlawfully. We can’t help thinking about what the prisons service were thinking at that point. They dropped our partners at places that are not their authority homes,” he added.

The prisons service spokesperson Frank Baine Mayanja says the quick delivery was vital given that the High Court had endorsed the bail.

“We needed to deliver them on the grounds that their bail was supported. We hung tight for their legal advisor and he never appeared so we accompanied them to the quarter guard check point and they left to their individual homes,” he said.

We comprehend that the MPs were simply ready to sign on the bail reports only yesterday after specialists from the Masaka High Court moved toward them at their separate sickbeds where they are getting therapy.
