NUP President Bobi Wine condoles with Malawians affected by Cyclone Freddy

The National Unity Platform party president Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert aka Bobi Wine has joined global leaders in expressing empathy with the Malawians who’ve been ravaged by the raging natural disaster dubbed Cyclone Freddy.

The floods have caused utter devastation, deaths and destruction of properties worth millions of dollars across key cities like Blantyre. The death toll is reported to be at 100 across Madagascar, Mozambique, and Malawi by Thursday, with more than 700 injured, 40 missing and 80,000 displaced.

The NUP president in a social media statement expressed empathy and called on the world to hold Malawians in prayers.

“I express my deepest sympathies to the people of Malawi and the rest of Southern Africa upon the devastation caused by Cyclone Freddy.

My heart goes out to you our brothers and sisters who have lost loved ones, homes, and livelihoods as a result of this natural disaster; and who now face the daunting task of rebuilding your lives from scratch.

Please know that we stand with you in solidarity, for you are in our thoughts and prayers. May you find the strength to pull through this heartbreaking tragedy,” he wrote.
