The National Unity Platform party spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi says they have unearthed a plan by the UPDF spokesperson Brig. Gen. Felix Kulayigye to stage more abductions targeting journalists, and activists.

According to Ssenyonyi, the move intends to correspond with army narrative that NUP owns drones which are manning abductions as earlier reiterated by Mr. John Kaddu, a decoy staged in recent weeks to pursuade Eric Mwesigwa.

“Following the Eric Mwesigwa stunt that gravely embarrassed the regime, we’ve got information that security operatives are now plotting to kidnap some people (including journalists), torture them, and claim it is NUP! They should know we’re aware.
To our people – please be vigilant!,” Ssenyonyi tweeted.

The UPDF spokesperson Brig. Gen. Kulayigye was not readily available to rebut to NUP allegations. It should be noted that even Mr. Mwesigwa who made the ridiculous comments remains in custody of the army which claims it is granting him security from vengeful ‘NUP extremists.’
