NUP women’s league holds retreat

The opposition National Unity Platform party women’s league is holding a special retreat in Kampala where ambitious women leaders are being enlightened about their duties and responsibilities in the push for democracy in Uganda.

The gathering taking place in a yet to be revealed location will last for a full week according to party sources who spoke to us.

“Like the famous Thomas Sankara said, there can’t be a successful revolution without the emancipation and participation of women. We are holding our special retreat and we expect our leaders to be reformed,” the source says.

Amongst the top notch leaders at the retreat is the secretary general David Lewis Rubongoya who is representing the president H.E Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert who is away for official duties in the diaspora.

Also in presence are former NUP party flag bearers in the just concluded 2021 general elections.

The NUP is structured systematically to include women as key decision makers and stakeholders in the party. The women’s league is presently headed by Kassanda district woman MP Hon. Flavia Kalule Nabagabe.
