With the covert backing of the speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Anita Annet Among Magogo who felt agitated when she was sidelined in the order of the National precedence, there is a secret mobilization of signatures by MPs who want to invoke article 107 and censure the president.

The speaker was reportedly embittered by the fact that the president left her for a lesser experienced Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja. By order of national precedence, Among was the candidate to take over presidency given her status as number three and the fact that the Vice President Rtd. Maj. Jessica Alupo is also out of the country attending to an IGAD summit in Djibouti.

The president however demonstrated his feud with the speaker and opted to select Nabbanja to represent him as he completed his self isolation following his contraction of COVID-19.

Opposition MPs led by Kyadondo East MP Hon. Muwadda Nkunyinji are set to collect signatures to invoke article 107 that defines how a presidential censure is conducted.

Our impeccable sources intimate that the speaker has already spoke to her loyal MPs within the NRM to again contribute to this grande censure. Among has already proved her legislative might given the defiance with which she censured junior lands Minister Persis Namuganza despite Museveni’s guidance for a cease fire.

The censure is to be preceded by a court case in which MP Muwadda and others will rally court to punish Mr. Museveni for acting reckless when he went out to the public spaces despite knowing his Covid-19 status.
