The opposition National Unity Platform party diaspora chapter members led by ex chairperson Herman Ainebyoona have stormed offices of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank to inform policy analysts and donors what exactly their funds are financing in Uganda.

Armed with placards and posters inscribed with images of some opposition youths murdered by the Ugandan security forces, the angry NUP supporters urged the West to cut funding directed to the Ugandan government.

They rallied the Joe Biden administration to cut aid to Kampala citing the aggravated rights abuses in Uganda.

Bobi commends the team for using peaceful demonstrations to communicate the repression and transgressions in Uganda.

“Appreciating our leadership team in the diaspora headed by Dr. Daniel Kawuma for the strong message sent out against the World Bank, IMF, and other international bodies that knowingly or recklessly fund the continued violation of our rights in Uganda. Thank you comrades, please don’t let up on the pressure as it is through such actions that we get closer to our freedom! #FreeAllPoliticalPrisoners #BringBackOurPeople #WeAreRemovingaDictator,” Bobi wrote.
