The recent demonstration organized by the National Unity Platform/People Power chapter in the United States of America is a powerful expression of their commitment to the struggle for freedom and holding powerful international organizations accountable for their actions in strengthening dictatorial regimes in Africa, particularly in Uganda. The protesters courageously took to the streets of Washington DC to voice their concerns and send a clear message to the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.

Their protest focused on the issue of rampant corruption and embezzlement of funds by the Museveni regime in Uganda and an urgent need to end this vicious cycle. The NUP/People Power USA team leader, Dr. Daniel Kawuma, expressed gratitude to the protesters for their dedication and unwavering commitment to the cause of liberating Uganda from the Miseveni tyranny. He acknowledged their sacrifices and efforts, exemplified by their long drive from different states to participate in the World Bank and IMF Spring Protest.

The NUP/People Power USA chapter’s actions demonstrate the power of collective action and the importance of holding global institutions accountable for their actions.
The World Bank and the International Monetary Fund have faced criticism in the past for their poor policies that support dictatorial regimes and perpetuate economic inequality. The protesters’ call for accountability and transparency is an essential step towards ensuring that international institutions uphold their values of democracy and human rights.

The protest aired on multiple online platforms affiliated with People Power Courtesy of JB Muwonge and @Shyne Williams and it was also shared by one of the most followed and prominent African-based news portals “I love Africa” and “Global Africa” asking what is Happening in Uganda?
The fight is still on. Many thanks Comrades in the US✊????#JBMuwonge #M7MustGo #WeAreRemovingADictator
