BREAKING NEWS: Makerere Student Takes Poison After Being Suspended for Supporting NUP

The shocking news of Mukisa Isaac, a Makerere University student who has reportedly taken poison due to his dismissal from the university over his political beliefs has sent shockwaves through the academic community. The student’s affiliation to the National Unity Platform (NUP) party seems to have led to his dismissal by Gordon Murangira, an administrator who works as the Personal Assistant to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Barnabas Nawangwe.

This tragic incident highlights the urgent need for academic institutions to uphold and protect freedom of expression and political affiliation. Mukisa Isaac’s dismissal appears to be a gross violation of his fundamental human rights, which has ultimately led to his current critical condition.

It is highly concerning that no administrator was available to comment on this matter at the time of this report. This lack of transparency raises questions about the accountability and integrity of the university administration.

The incident underscores the need for universities to foster a culture of inclusivity, diversity, and tolerance for diverse political beliefs. Universities should be safe spaces for students to express themselves and engage in constructive political discourse without fear of retribution or persecution.

Our thoughts are with Mukisa Isaac, and we hope that he receives the necessary medical attention to fully recover. As an advocate of a free Uganda, i call upon Makerere University to investigate this matter thoroughly and take appropriate action to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.

More details to follow shortly.
